Body Waxing

WHY WAXING?
One of the best benefits of waxing is that your skin will feel smooth and even. When waxing, you not only remove unwanted hair—you also wax away any dry and dead skin cells in the process.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HOT & STRIP WAX
Hot wax is spread thickly onto the skin and allowed to dry slightly before it’s peeled away. The benefits include fewer in-grown hairs, less breakage and therefore longer re-growth periods. The wax also promotes skin hydration and is highly recommended for sensitive areas. Strip wax is recommended for thicker/less sensitive skin, for example, legs, arms, back, chest and shoulders. A thin layer of wax is applied to the skin and is then removed using a paper strip.

DOES IT HURT?
Every person has a different pain threshold and also experiences waxing differently, however, if you maintain your waxing regularly, most find it easier as the hairs become thinner, lighter, and more sparse after a few treatments.
If your pain threshold is particularly low, Nurofen tablets half an hour prior to treatment tend to reduce pain.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WAX?
You may notice a small amount of growth after a week or so.
Waxing should last anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks, depending on the hair cycle growth, and the accuracy of the application.

HOW LONG SHOULD MY HAIR BE FOR WAXING?
Hot wax can grab hairs as short as 1mm in length. The strip wax can remove hair as short as 2mm. Everyone has different growth cycle but generally can wax areas that have been shaved 7-10 days earlier. However, with larger parts of the body like arms/legs, it’s suggested to leave it three weeks before waxing it.
When the hair hasn’t been waxed or shaved for a long period of time it’s recommended to be trimmed to a suitable length to be waxed.

IS WAXING RECOMMENDED WHEN PREGNANT?
Waxing during pregnancy is very popular. With years of experience, I can ensure that all parts of the body are waxed comfortably and safely even one week before the due date.

WHAT AFTER-CARE DO I NEED TO FOLLOW?
Keep the waxed area clean and avoid heat & friction during the next 24 hours.
-No hot baths or showers (warm water only)
-No saunas, hot tubs, or steam treatments
-No tanning (sunbathing, sunbeds or fake tans)
-No heavy exercises
-Avoid scratching or touching the treated area with unwashed hands
-Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools
Avoid deodorants, body sprays, powders with chemicals, and choose natural products straight after waxing.

Please note: Some slight soreness, small bumps & redness are common & perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax.
These symptoms should subside over 24-48 hours. If you experience persistent redness or irritation, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Florenbeauty.
